Dave McMahon is a member of the PIF Selection Committee and has a 35-year career has focused on engaged cyber defence, security and intelligence initiatives. He has an honours degree in computer engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and has authored numerous publications, papers and articles throughout his career.

Dave was a Special Advisor to the Canadian Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and expert witness to Senate Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs and the National Security and Defence Committees. He has acted in the capacity of a Special Advisor to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as well as Canadian Intelligence Oversight and Review bodies.

Dave also served in various leadership positions with the Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE). He was Chief Strategist for ADGA Group Consultants, Chief Operating Officer for the Secdev Cyber Corp, Chief Security Officer at Bell Security Solutions Inc. where he led complex government research programs and development at Bell Canada. Dave is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Clairvoyance Cyber Corp and serves as Chair of the Cyber Council for the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI).

Dave engages in interdisciplinary thinking, strategic listening, over-the-horizon technology forecasting and the incubation of advanced ideas and solutions. He applies advanced data science, anticipatory intelligence and creativity towards solving tomorrow’s challenging and complex poly-disciplined problems, delivering contextualized narratives and actionable insights in a World described by data.
