MEET

The Honorable Peter MacKay

Former Canadian Cabinet Minister

Biography

As Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2015, the Honorable Peter MacKay served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of National Defence, and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Canada under Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The Atlantic Canada based lawyer and former politician was a serious contender for the Conservative Party’s leadership in 2020. Given the myriad involvements he had with some of the largest defence deals and programs in Canadian history, Mr. MacKay is well-versed in the processes and challenges of U.S.-Canada relations, NORAD, defence procurement and international security cooperation and will provide significant political insight to this discussion.
