The Policy Insights Forum (PIF) is pleased to announce that Meagan Boucher-Martin has joined as the organization’s newest Policy Analyst Intern for 2024. This Internship is provided in the spirit of the Samuel Group’s Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan and our promise to develop young Indigenous leaders to assume positions of responsibility in the governance of Canada.

“In making a better Canada tomorrow, we need to invest in next generation Indigenous youth today. I strongly encourage other executives and industry leaders to do the same. Bringing in different perspectives to the table, including Indigenous voices and experiences, enables us to remain globally competitive and socially responsible,” affirmed PIF Chairman Goran Samuel Pesic.

While working for the PIF during the Summer 2024 Internship Program, Meagan will be assisting the team in advancing the different projects the PIF is preparing for the current year and beyond through independent research and analysis into the latest geopolitical developments. She will be mentored and guided, working alongside Aliénor Peyrefitte, PIF Chief of Staff.

Meagan has completed a Certificate in Supply Chain Management at Mount Royal University and is currently pursuing a joint Bachelor’s in Public Relations with Algonquin College and the University of Ottawa. Her dedication to academic success has led her to achieving Algonquin College’s Dean’s Honours List for two consecutive terms.

“I am honoured to receive this prestigious internship award and I am excited to be a part of a team that creates an impact for young Canadians and those associated working with the Policy Insights Forum. As the first Mi’kmaq intern, I am proud to be working in an organization that values the contributions and experiences of the Indigenous community,” said Meagan.

Meagan is joining the PIF after finishing her recent semester of classes at Algonquin College. Her academic and community experience includes running a charity campaign for the Parkdale Food Centre, which raised over several thousands of dollars for this important cause.
