The Policy Insights Forum Announces Katherine Todd as the Organization's Newest Fellow.

Katherine E. Todd is a Master of Public Policy Candidate and Research Assistant at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.

Katherine graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts with honours, specializing in political science and minoring in public law. She was awarded the University of Toronto's prestigious John H. Moss Scholarship, which recognizes one undergraduate student annually across all three University of Toronto campuses for their academic achievement and community leadership.

Katherine is currently a Naval Warfare (Maritime Surface and Sub-Surface) Officer in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves with HMCS York.

She is also the Senior Editor of and a former Junior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada, was the host of a podcast called Voice Above where she's interviewed distinguished guests about current affairs including the Governor General of Canada, and was a delegate at the 2022 Oxford Diplomacy and Geopolitics Forum and North American and Arctic Defense Security Network's Emerging Leaders Week.

At the PIF, Katherine's research areas will relate to Arctic, cyber, international and national security, privacy, property, Indigenous and constitutional rights, northern development, sustainability, group identity politics, migration studies, and intergovernmental relations in Canada.

"I am excited to continue researching Canadian and international security issues with the PIF, collaborating with the PIF’s renowned and brilliant team members, and contributing to the organization’s thought leadership in the national defence and security field,"said Katherine. “I am grateful for the Policy Insight Forum’s Board of Director’s consideration and confidence in appointing me as a Fellow.”

PIF Chair Goran Samuel Pesic said in announcing the appointment, "I'm pleased to welcome Katherine as a PIF Fellow. I look forward to her research and policy contribution on topics of strategic importance to Canada and the world."
