The Policy Insights Forum (PIF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Hume to its Advisory Board. Ms. Hume will also serve as Chairwoman of PIF’s Canada–U.S. Strategic Dialogue, leading the Forum’s work on strengthening one of the world’s most important bilateral relationships.
As part of PIF’s expanding strategic programming, the new PIF Centre for Strategic Dialogue will serve as the institutional home for the Canada–U.S. Strategic Dialogue, providing a permanent platform for senior-level engagement on shared defence and security, cross-border investment, energy and critical minerals, and the strategic interdependencies that define North American resilience. The Centre will convene government, industry, academia and allied partners to advance practical policy solutions and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
A respected leader in Canada–U.S. defence, security, and cross-border investment, Ms. Hume brings extensive experience at the intersection of government, industry, and strategic policy. Her leadership will help advance PIF’s growing work on North American security, defence industrial cooperation, economic resilience, and strategic competitiveness.
“Heather brings exceptional strategic insight, private-sector credibility, and a valuable Western Canadian perspective to our organization,” said Goran Samuel Pesic, Chairman of the Policy Insights Forum. “Her leadership will strengthen our ability to convene meaningful dialogue and develop practical policy solutions that reinforce the Canada–U.S. partnership. The establishment of the PIF Centre for Strategic Dialogue further demonstrates our long-term commitment to providing a trusted platform for strategic engagement between Canada, the United States, and our allies.”
Ms. Hume currently co-leads a specialized advisory practice within TD Bank Group’s investment bank and serves as Executive Director of the Council of Women CEOs. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with industry and government on major investment and economic policy issues affecting both Canada and the United States.
“I am honoured to join the Policy Insights Forum and to serve as Chairwoman of the Canada–U.S. Strategic Dialogue,” said Ms. Hume. “The Canada–U.S. relationship requires sustained strategic attention, and PIF has established itself as a trusted, non-partisan platform for advancing thoughtful policy discussions. I look forward to contributing to that mission and helping shape the work of the new Centre for Strategic Dialogue.”
PIF welcomes Ms. Hume to its Advisory Board and looks forward to her leadership in advancing dialogue on the future of Canada–U.S. relations, continental security, economic resilience and allied strategic cooperation.
